Apexto Calgary, Canada 8 x 1.2MW Hydro Project

Project Description

eploying liquid-cooled ASIC miners in Alberta requires resilient crypto mining infrastructure built for heavy snow. For this 9.6MW hydro bitcoin mining project in Calgary, Canada, we installed 8 units of our 1.2MW 210-Slot Split-Type Antminer Hydro Mining Container 20FT HQ. Both the modular containers and closed-loop dry coolers were elevated on concrete piers to clear seasonal snow drifts.

To prevent fluid freeze-ups during cold climate bitcoin mining, the split-type system integrates automated glycol loops and bypass valves that keep the water-cooled bitcoin mining circuit warm. With pre-engineered switchgear and internal plumbing, our team completed this turnkey bitcoin mining facility in under 90 days before the winter freeze arrived.

Now an operational bitcoin mining data center, the site runs at continuous full load through sub-zero temperatures past -35°C (-31°F). The automated loop prevents cold-shock downtime, while freezing ambient air naturally drives the operating PUE down to 1.02, proving modular hydro cooling containers deliver stable hashrate density and zero-downtime efficiency in severe winter climates.
