Miner KS0 PRO for Iceriver KAS, an Upgrade from the KS0 Entry-Level Kaspa ASICs

Iceriver, the first Kaspa (KASP) ASIC manufacturer, has revealed Iceriver KS0 PRO ASIC miner, which is expected to replace their existing entry level KS0 device. The original Iceriver KS0 miner is no longer offered on the official website; it was capable of 100 GH/s KAS mining hashrate with 65 Watts of power consumption by default, but we’ve seen an unofficial firmware that allowed users to overclock it to 160 GH/s with 100+ Watts of power consumption. The KS0’s overclockability most likely led to the official production of a KS0 PRO version capable of 200 GH/s at 100 Watts of power consumption, or slightly more hashrate with less power consumption than the OC variant. Nonetheless, Iceriver KS0 PRO ASIC miners are double the KS0’s official hashrate while using only approximately half the power, outperforming the OC results.

Of course, these replacing the original KS0 should be the same price or even lower in order to be considered a worthwhile investment at the moment, and IceRiver KS0 PRO should be considered a worthy update, especially now that there is an unofficial overclock for the original miners and the network difficulty constantly increasing. However, Iceriver has not yet released the price of the KS0 PRO, the successor to the KS0. We anticipate that the most likely price per unit will be in the $500-$600 USD range, while we may be pleased or unpleasantly shocked by the actual price. We’ll have to wait a little longer to see what Iceriver has to say and when orders for the new KS0 Pro devices will be available.

Surprisingly, the new IceRiver KS0 PRO miners are still passive (no active fan cooling), albeit at 100 Watts of power consumption, you should probably consider adding a cooling fan or placing the miner in a well-ventilated room with decent steady airflow. It would have been preferable if the new gadget included a PCI-E power connector, allowing us to use current computer power supplies rather than purchasing powerful laptop-type external power bricks. So, might Iceriver have done better with the new KS0 Pro? Probably, but it is encouraging to see that they are making progress.

The IceRiver KAS KS0 Pro is a highly efficient ASIC miner, with a KAS Pro hashrate of 200GH/S and power consumption of only 100W/h. It is compact, lightweight, and quiet, making it perfect for home use. Its affordable price and excellent cost-performance make it highly recommended for mining KAS coins at home or in the office.
